Gidday, I’m Lucy, a Family, Lifestyle & Small Events Photographer, originally from a sheep farm in Mount Somers, Mid Canterbury, and now based in Christchurch.
Photography isn’t my 9–5 — it’s something I do because I genuinely love it. I work full-time during the week, and photography is my creative outlet on evenings and weekends. I’m still growing my portfolio, meeting new people and finding the little moments that are worth keeping.
I love capturing people as they really are — the laughs, conversations, funny faces, chaos and little in-between moments you might not even realise are happening. To me, those are often the photos that end up meaning the most.
I'm still trying to find my style, but I like my sessions to be relaxed and natural rather than overly posed. Whether it’s a family, your pets, a couple of kids running wild, or a small event, I’m much more interested in capturing you being you.

THE TAKER OF THE PHOTOS
I am the taker of the photos. I am the receiver of the groans, the eye-rolls and the “hurry ups”. I am the one who disrupts the moments – to capture them. But I am also the holder of the memories, I am the keeper of the stories. I am the one with the precious proof. And if you are too, please know, you are capturing this life as it happens. Capturing stages, ages, twists, turns and final moments no one could have foreseen. The eye-rolls will be replaced one day with absolute all-consuming gratitude for the image of a smiling face so missed and a memory returned home to stay. Keep disrupting life to capture it, my friends. When it’s all that is left, someone somewhere, will be so very glad you did.

What to expect
I like to keep my sessions/ events relaxed, simple and easy-going, with plenty of room for natural moments along the way.
My photography is about capturing people as they really are — the laughs, little interactions and in-between moments that make your family, relationship or event yours.
Before your session or event, we’ll have a chat about what you’re looking for, who will be involved and the kind of photos you’d love to come away with. I can also help with choosing a location if relevant, what to wear and preparing for your session (see this in the website menu).
During the shoot, you don’t need to know how to pose or what to do. I’ll give you some guidance when you need it, while still leaving plenty of space for things to happen naturally.
Afterwards, your carefully edited photos will be delivered through your own online gallery, ready to download, share and print.
